The Glory of the Gospel
2 Corinthians 3

Personal Letters Are Powerful

Acts 18:8
“Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord, together with his entire household. And many of the Corinthians hearing Paul believed and were baptized.”

Acts 18:11
“And he stayed a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.”

2 Corinthians 11:5
“Indeed, I consider that I am not in the least inferior to these super-apostles.”

2 Corinthians 12:11
“I have been a fool! You forced me to it, for I ought to have been commended by you. For I was not at all inferior to these super-apostles, even though I am nothing.”

2 Corinthians 11:13
“For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.”

Jeremiah 31:31-35
“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

2 Corinthians 3:3
“And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.”

The Glory of the Gospel or New Covenant Is Far Greater Because…

1. The New Covenant Is Written On Our Hearts! (1-3)

2. The New Covenant Brings Life Not Death. (4-6)

3. The New Covenant lasts forever. (7-11)

4. The New Covenant generates ever increasing glory! (12-18)

What does that mean for believers, how does it change the way we live our lives?

First, This Reminds Us That our HOPE is In Christ Alone!

Second, This Hope Gives us Confidence To Live Our Lives Boldly For Christ! (vs. 12)

2 Corinthians 3:12
“Since we have such a hope, we are very bold.”

2 Corinthians 3:18
“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”
