Lesson 2: Compassion
Text: Nehemiah 2:1-16

In this lesson we'll outline the numerous ways we can show compassion for people around us.

Compassion =
Using who we are and what we have for the benefit of people in need.
(John Maxwell Informal Poll)
What prompted you to become a leader?

Natural gifting........................10%
Result of Crisis.......................5%
Influence of another leader....85%
We can benefit others with our:
1. Words (We speak up for people in need.)
2. Walk (We leverage our good will for people in need.)
3. Wealth (We give of our resources for people in need.)
4. Wisdom (We share our knowledge with/for people in need.)
5. Workmanship (We use our skill set for people in need.)
Key questions to ponder:
1. What's wrong with assuming we can only show compassion if WE do so personally to those in need?
A– It ignores all the really important leadership roles that are played by people in the background. Without people up and down the pipeline the benefits cannot reach their final destination.
2. When has God used someone to benefit you in one of these 5 unique ways?
3. Which of the five best defines the way you are or could be benefitting people in your life? How so?
