This Treasure in Jars of Clay!
The God of All Comfort!
2 Corinthians 1
2 Corinthians 4:5-7
“For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.”
Lesson one: Suffering is not a stranger to the Christian!
Lesson Two: God is the true source of ALL Comfort!
Amazing Truth—God comforts us in all our afflictions—there is nothing his comfort can't sooth.
Lesson Three: Suffering is meant to strengthen our faith and dependency on God not destroy it!
Lesson Four: God does not comfort us to make us comfortable, but to make us comforters.
In other words, God stands with us as we stand with one another!
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”
