Attributes of God Pt. 9:
"God Is Immutable"

How would you describe yourself to someone who hasn't seen you in 10 or more years?

President George W. Bush

Human beings change in one of 4 ways:
• Externally, from better to worse or worse to better
• Internally, from better to worse or worse to better
Im·mu·ta·ble (adjective)
1– unchanging over time
2– unable to be changed
3– incapable of changing

"God is perpetually the same. He never changes. His being, nature, and perfections can't be altered. Nothing can be added to the infinite God and nothing can be taken from Him. What God is today He always was. What God is today He shall always be. He is immutable; that is His state, and He is eternal; that is the measure of His state. It is essential that God is unchangeable. Without it He could not be God.”
–Charles Spurgeon
1. God is unchanged by time.
2. God is unchanged by His decisions.
3. God is unchanged by the decisions of faithless people.
4. God is unchanged by the decisions of faith-filled, yet flawed people.

In summary:
• God, who doesn't change, willingly enters a relationship with people who do.
• God, who doesn't change, willingly provides a means for people to change for the better.
