When you talk about faith with people, you run the risk of speaking about 2 different things. One may have a completely different definition of faith than the other.
-Lets allow this to be the starting point for all conversations about faith. It’s confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see, in relationship to the Kingdom of God.
-What good are our words about things we value, if we don’t back it up with our actions? Right away, we see that, according to James, faith is intended to produce action in us.
-The principle James is communicating is that faith must have an impact on those around us.
-Faith is intended to make life better for those around me.
Faith, is intended to produce change…to do good things in the world…to participate in the Kingdom of God and the restoration of all things.

For us to rely strictly on our declaration of faith and never put it in to action, according to James, this means we don’t really have faith at all.
