Prayer
Father, I come to worship you in my giving.
I acknowledge your blessing IN my life
And your care OF my life.
This is my offering. These are my tithes.
I give today because I trust you completely
With all of my life.
May you supply all my needs
In the days that are ahead.
And may you use my gift to build your Kingdom
And supply the needs of your church.
Amen.
What do you see? When you look at another person’s face, what do you see first?

What has been your response to the racial unrest you've seen in our country?

Because we try to follow Jesus and live a Christ-like life, we need to talk about how we ought to live in this moment in regards to racism.
Psychologists tell us children learn about racial differences and racial bias from an early age.

Many of us grew up with a certain amount of accepted racism around us. What types of racism have you witnessed as "normal"?

Race In America

Phil Vischer, creator of the popular animated Christian cartoon "VeggieTales" and voice of Bob the Tomato, has released another video addressing race, this time looking at U.S. history and past regulations that suppressed the advancement of black Americans.

Racism for a follower of Jesus is not acceptable. It’s an evil that destroys people in this world. It’s sin. It’s carnal. How are we as followers of Jesus suppose to respond to racism in our culture?

Two things to keep in mind:
1. What racism is in the bible.
2. This is not a police versus blacks discussion.
As followers of Jesus, how should we respond to the racial divide in our culture based on what Micah says? God wants us to…

ACT JUSTLY

LOVE MERCY
As followers of Jesus, how should we respond to the racial divide in our culture based on what Micah says? God wants us to…

ACT JUSTLY
LOVE MERCY
WALK HUMBLY
My wish for us is that we might somehow repent of our arrogance and our racism that we too easily settle for and that we would live the way that God desires: act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly. And that each of you would find someone like Janie in your life who embodies these three things and inspires you, encourages you, to live them out. It’s the way God wants us to live. And it’s the only way our world will heal when it comes to racism.

What do you see when you see another person of color? I hope you see the face of the one who created both of us!
How does God want me to respond to what He is saying to me today?
A blessing for this week:
May the God of Heaven and Earth,
who created one human family
and endowed each person with great dignity, aid you in overcoming the sin of racism.

May He grant you grace in eliminating this blight
 from our hearts, our communities,
 our social and civil institutions.
May He fill our hearts with love for our neighbor
so that we may work with His Spirit
in healing our land from racial injustice.

I bless you today
in the name of the Father who loves us all,
His Son Jesus who died for all,
and the Holy Spirit who has come to live in us all.
Amen
