Your will be done..

How do we relate? God, self, others, do not compartmentalize how we relate (in) one relationship from another - they all function with the same principles because this IS God’s way and therefore His design and the intention of the design. This goes go back to the principle of “we”. Can you imagine how confusing it would be if God made each type of relationship with completely different sets of principles? We would be lost - going from one relationship to another...

THIS Saturday!! Volunteers are needed from 12pm-5pm.. Come and have a great time blessing families who's children just need a day to be a kid again.

In the context of our relationships, we must grow - grow from “my will (or desires) be done” to “your will be done”. And in every one of our relationships, this transformation tends to follow this same type of pattern:
● Acquaintance to friend
● “How can you help me?” to “How can I help you?”
● Friend to good friend
● And then there’s a friend who sticks closer than a brother… (Prov 17:17; 27:10)
● It is no longer what we can do for each other, it has now become, who you are and who i am, and us, we, together

17:17 A friend loves at all times,<br> and a brother is born for a time of adversity.<br><br>27:10 Do not forsake your friend or a friend of your family,<br> and do not go to your relative’s house when disaster strikes you—<br> better a neighbor nearby than a relative far away.

The more I get to know, the more I can discern whether this person, this relationship, is what I think it is, and can be what I hope it can become… and with all of this, love grows - deepens, widens, promotes and governs… and in that, with that, so does trust… and this is so in every and all of our relationships...
Love and trust are intertwined…
As love grows over time, the depth of that love is very often governed by trust, so in order for that love to grow and be more effective we must grow in trust. So to love well, we must grow in trust, and trust grows as we gain more knowledge of the one we know. In turn, trust and love, and our ability to love well, will grow when as our knowledge increases and then as we apply the principles of wisdom to that knowledge in that relationship - and in so, learn to love wisely.

All of this, our love and trust, deepens and matures as we are becoming more and more persuaded that this person is who he/she says they are, that the knowledge that we gain and the experiences we have had with them come together and continue to promote my being persuaded, until I am convinced that what I see is true, and as we become more persuaded and more convinced, trust grows, and with trust, love. This is why it is so important to know, more and more the one we love, as to grow in that love - and this is true with everyone I would love, and true of God, too.
Persuaded, convinced, and convinced some more…
All of this is true, and all of this takes time. You see, over time, as I learn more and more, and I experience more and more, I become more and more convinced, that what I know about this person is true, and now, tried and true. The more my knowledge of this person grows, so does my being persuaded if what I am seeing matches up to the character I have thus far witnessed… and with that consistency, seeing it again and again, I am even more convinced and therefore love and trust, more. (Eph 1:3; 3:7-21; 2Tim 1:12)

Time, time, and more time, time tested, tried and true…
Being persuaded, being convinced, learning to love, to trust, does not happen overnight, neither is it a one, or two, or even three time deal, this is something that happens over time, and that, time-after-time - it is progressive and perpetual - ongoing and persistent and consistent. Or as Peter would say happening “...in increasing measure…”. (Deut 7:9; 32:3-4; 2Sam 22:31)

7:9 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God,keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.<br><br>32:3 I will proclaim the name of the Lord.<br> Oh, praise the greatness of our God!<br>4 He is the Rock, his works are perfect,<br> and all his ways are just.<br>A faithful God who does no wrong,<br> upright and just is he.

31 “As for God, his way is perfect:<br> The Lord’s word is flawless;<br> he shields all who take refuge in him.

And as this is what happens among us, so it is true that all of this happens the same way with God… yup, God. That we would know God, His character, and His commands and promises in the light of that character, and grow in that knowledge, promotes all things trust and love, and therefore, relationship (Psalm 34:8; 1Peter 2:3)

And all of this happens in and with, wisdom.

● Patience, tolerance and kindness… this is a process and we are in progress… never fully complete, but as complete as we can be in the moment (the present) we are to love

● We esteem people when we love them - the way they need to be loved according to their bent[1] !
