Chestnut Ridge Church
Baptism is recognized and practiced worldwide in today’s society in a variety of ways. Our goal is simply to understand what it is, what it is not, and redirect some common misconceptions. By reading 3 stories, all from the book of Acts, we can gain a greater insight to God’s purpose for baptism.

Baptism - [May 28, 2017] Ryan Russell

Baptism is a public confession of a private declaration.

Baptism
Theologian John Stott puts it like this: “What was crucified with Christ was not a part of me called my old nature, but the whole of me as I was before I was converted.”
Douglas J. Moo puts it like this: “It is always dangerous to put
words into the mouth of a scriptural author, but I think if Paul had ever been asked about an “unbaptized believer,” he would have responded: “Well, yes, such a person is saved; but why in the world isn’t she baptized?”
