SERMON: Psalm 25 - "A Sight for Sore Eyes"

“What comforts do we receive by continually looking to the LORD?”

4. We Find Refuge in Difficulty

5. We Find Pardon for Sin

“Eyes upon the LORD bring comfort for every day.”

APPLICATION QUESTIONS:
1. Reflect upon an object, person, or place that when you view it, you find comfort and encouragement. Why is this so, and what feelings accompany that sight? Review again Psalm 25 and describe the many ways David’s continually looking to LORD bring comfort to him.

2. Review the following Scriptures and observe the encouragement and exhortation they provide for us: Psalm 123:1-2, Psalm 141:8, Isaiah 40:26, Hebrews 12:2.

3. What is the danger in looking to ourselves or to others rather than to the LORD? Has this ever occurred in your own life, and how can we resist the temptation to do so?

4. Describe a time in your own life when looking to the LORD has brought special blessing and comfort.

5. What is a single take-away for you and how will your life be changed by today’s sermon?
