Great Things

Come let us worship our King
Come let us bow at His feet
He has done great things
See what our Savior has done
See how His love overcomes
He has done great things
He has done great things

O Hero of heaven
You conquered the grave
You free every captive and break every chain
O God You have done great things
We dance in Your freedom awake and alive
O Jesus our Savior Your name lifted high
O God You have done great things

You’ve been faithful through every storm
You’ll be faithful forevermore
You have done great things
And I know You will do it again
For Your promise is yes and amen
You will do great things
God You do great things

O Hero of heaven
You conquered the grave
You free every captive and break every chain
O God You have done great things
We dance in Your freedom awake and alive
O Jesus our Savior Your name lifted high
O God You have done great things

Hallelujah God above it all
Hallelujah God unshakable
Hallelujah You have done great things

Hallelujah God above it all
Hallelujah God unshakable
Hallelujah You have done great things
You’ve done great things

O Hero of heaven You conquered the grave
You free every captive and break every chain
O God You have done great things
We dance in Your freedom awake and alive
O Jesus our Savior Your name lifted high
O God You have done great things

You have done great things
O God You do great things

Sovereign Over Us

There is strength within the sorrow
There is beauty in our tears
And You meet us in our mourning
With a love that casts out fear

You are working in our waiting
Sanctifying us
When beyond our understanding
You’re teaching us to trust

Your plans are still to prosper
You’ve not forgotten us
You’re with us in the fire and the flood
Faithful forever perfect in love
You are sov’reign over us

You are wisdom unimagined
Who could understand Your ways
Reigning high above the heavens
Reaching down in endless grace

You’re the lifter of the lowly
Compassionate and kind
You surround and You uphold me
And Your promises are my delight

Even what the enemy means for evil
You turn it for our good
You turn it for our good
And for Your glory
Even in the valley You are faithful
You’re working for our good
You’re working for our good
And for Your glory

Faithful forever perfect in love
You are sov’reign over us

Come Behold The Wondrous Mystery

Come behold the wondrous myst’ryI
n the dawning of the King
He the theme of heaven’s praises
Robed in frail humanity
In our longing in our darkness
Now the light of life has come
Look to Christ who condescended
Took on flesh to ransom us

Come behold the wondrous myst’ry
He the perfect Son of ManIn His living in His suff’ring
Never trace nor stain of sin
See the true and better Adam
Come to save the hell-bound man
Christ the great and sure fulfillment
Of the law in Him we stand

Come behold the wondrous myst’ry
Christ the Lord upon the tree
In the stead of ruined sinners
Hangs the Lamb in victory
See the price of our redemption
See the Father’s plan unfold
Bringing many sons to glory
Grace unmeasured love untold

Come behold the wondrous myst’ry
Slain by death the God of life
But no grave could e’er restrain Him
Praise the Lord He is alive
What a foretaste of deliv’rance
How unwavering our hope
Christ in power resurrected
As we will be when He comes

Be Thou My Vision

Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high tower
Raise Thou me heav’nward,
O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of heaven, my victory won,
May I reach heaven’s joys, O bright heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,S
till be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

CONVERSATION STARTERS
Conversation Starters help us dig deeper, connecting Sunday’s sermons with our Monday lives. These prompts have been designed to help Community Groups grow in their relationship with God, with one another, and with their neighbors. Please know that these questions are meant to be a resource to you. You do not have to follow them verbatim or get through them all. We trust you to know your group and to ask the questions based on your group needs.

1) What stood out to you from the text or the sermon?

2) A Harvard Business Review article on wealth and happiness is mentioned that says “wealth seems to make us less generous...it makes us more isolated.” Have you found this to be true in your life or in the life of someone you know? If so, why do you think that is?

3) Read Deuteronomy 8:17-18. We may tend to think that our wealth is the result of our own hard work, but this passage shows us that it is God who gives us the ability to get wealth. How should this change our relationship with money and possessions?

4) Give one practical way to change your attitude/actions to grow richer toward God instead of building bigger barns. Is there a way the group can help you accomplish this?

Prayer Requests

As a staff it is a privilege to pray for our congregation. Social distance does not change that! If you are in need of prayer click the link to fill out an online prayer request.

Title: The Rich Fool
Scripture: Luke 12:13-20
Speaker: Reid Kapple, ReidK@ChristCommunityKC.org
>> The more we hold, the less we have
“By living a life bent around safety...we fail to see beyond our front doors, beyond the successes of our children or beyond those just like us. It's easy to close your eyes to poverty, physical and spiritual, not necessarily because we don't care, but because we don't have eyes to see. We use our houses as fortresses. We keep a safe distance. The stories our places tell are always moral.” -Ashley Hales
“One reason is that wealth seems to make us less generous, both in dollar terms and in behavioral respects...Researchers have theorized that wealth makes us less generous because it makes us more isolated.” - "Why Rich People Aren’t As Happy As They Could Be,", The Harvard Business Review
“Possessions are bonded to a deep, often irrational fear. The fear of one day not having enough. Regardless of how much wealth is squirreled away, this gnawing fear presses frail humans to acquire more. There is never quite enough because the insecurity within never dies.” - Kenneth Bailey, Jesus Through Middle Eastern Eyes
>> Your stuff is not your own...So live thankfully
>> Your stuff is not your life...So live simply
>> Your stuff is an opportunity...So live generously
“He did not realize that the bellies of the poor were much safer storerooms than his barns.” - Augustine
“We can imagine a rich person who truly loves God and holds wealth lightly, one who gives liberally to the needy, or better yet, invests money in producing genuine goods and services, employs a growing workforce, and treats people with justice and fairness in their work.” -Theology of Work Commentary

Picnic for 8 or 9

We all miss gathering together, so we invite you to connect with your church family and share a meal together, through Picnics for 8 or 9! These picnics give you the opportunity to meet someone new from the Olathe Campus or reconnect with friends outside the church walls. Each person will bring their own food, drink, blanket or chair and will agree on an outdoor space to meet. This could be a park, the church lawn, or in the yard of one of the participants. Register online by July 12!
