CONFESSION OF SIN / DECLARATION OF GRACE:
Dear Heavenly Father, we bow before You to confess that we have sinned against You in our thoughts, words, and our actions. We come to ask Your forgiveness and to seek Your great mercy. We come to You in the merits of Jesus Christ, not our own. Look not upon our sins, or our iniquity, but wash us in the blood of Jesus Christ so that we may be clean before You. This we pray in His Name, Amen.

BENEDICTION:
SERMON: Joshua 14 “Growing Old with Grace”
“Every day we all grow older—how are we to do so with grace?”
1. Walk in His Ways
2. War in His Promises
3. Rest in His Peace
“Growing old in Jesus is the way to grow old with grace.”
APPLICATION QUESTIONS:
1. Read the following Scriptures and assess the importance of a whole-hearted obedience unto the Lord. How is this accomplished today, and what does this look like in your own life? Leviticus 25:18; Deuteronomy 26:16; Joshua 11:15; Matthew 7:24-27; Mark 1:17-18; John 12:26, 14:15, 23-24; Romans 6:16-18; 1 Peter 1:14-16.
2. Identify foes or obstacles presently standing in your own walk of faith, that is, what are your “Anakim’s”? How are you warring against them, and what is the role of God’s word and promises in these battles?
3. How was Caleb’s confidence in the promises of God revealed in the text of Joshua 14? Review also Numbers 13:16-33 which is the accounting of the 12 spies. What blessings do we see in this example of Caleb (and Joshua) regarding their dependence upon the promises of God? How are trusting in the promises of God in your own walk of faith?
4. We see in the text of Joshua 14 the reality that rest comes not through ease, but through hard and often difficult labor in the Lord. What is the significance of this for your own life, especially as we grow older? Recall that Caleb was 85 when he voiced his continued desire to labor for the Lord.
5. What is a single take-away for you and how will your life be changed by today’s sermon?
