1. Icebreaker: What type of person are you in asking for help? Are you one who is very hesitant or one who is very willing to request help? Why?
2. What insight, principle, or observation from Sunday’s sermon/message did you find to be most helpful, eye opening, or troubling?
3. Read Ephesians 3:14-19. Often, Christ-followers don't always know how to pray for fellow believers. Look at Paul's prayer in this passage and list specific requests he makes on behalf of the Ephesian church members.
4. Oswald Chambers stated: "Prayer does not prepare us for greater work; prayer is the greater work." What if we as the church really believed this statement? How would this change your schedule or our church's schedule if we really lived out this statement?
5. While love is the “glue” that holds a church together in community, prayer is the "fuel" for ministry in and through a church. What do you do at Bent Tree that you need to commit more to prayer? (Stop now as a group to pray for each request as mentioned).
6. In 1 Corinthians 8:1b, the Apostle Paul stated when used for the wrong motives, "knowledge puffs up, but love builds up." In Eph. 3:19, "...the love of Christ...surpasses knowledge..." How have you seen churches or Christ followers reverse this truth and allowed knowledge to surpass Christ's love? How do we prevent this practice?
7. Read 2 Peter 3:18. Why did Peter admonish believers to grow both in "the grace and knowledge" of Jesus? Rather than balancing grace and knowledge, how can either extreme be unhealthy?
8. Read Ephesians 3:20-21. How is this benediction by the Apostle Paul an encouragement to you specifically? Why do you think that Paul included "in the church" in this great promise?
9.How can our group pray for you this week?
