Seeing Jesus as He really is will help us to experience the Comeback we really need. A clear picture of Jesus will reveal a clear direction for your comeback.
Character: the mental and moral qualities distinctive to Jesus.

Philippians 3:10-11

Paul is saying that our purpose is first and foremost to know Jesus.
I asked, “If Jesus was standing right over there and you decided to go over and tell Him everything you just told me, how do you believe He would respond to you?”

She said, “I believe He would embrace me in His arms and forgive me”. And then, she quickly changed her response and said, “No, I think He would run to me when He saw me coming.”

The way we define Jesus will determine the way we approach our comeback.
The Bible reveals the truest picture of Jesus.

· Who did Jesus hang out with?

Matthew 9:9-13

· How did Jesus respond to hurting people?

Mark 10:46-52

· How did he respond to sinful people?

John 8:1-11

Jesus wasn’t inferring that this woman’s sin was okay that’s why He told her to go and sin no more. The Greek language actually infers “Stop this life of sin.” What I want you to see is how God forgives others even when we want to punish them.

Last week, I shared that God not only loves us, He is for us.

Romans 8:31

What gets in our way of seeing Jesus in HD?

Getting stuck in a cycle of guilt and shame will keep us chained to our setback.

Guilt: is a feeling of responsibility or remorse for something you’ve done or haven’t done.

Shame: is a feeling of guilt, regret, or sadness that you have because you know you have done something wrong.
God didn’t create you with the ability to carry guilt and shame.

Those feelings are not from my Heavenly Father and He doesn’t want me to carry them. I have asked God to forgive me and I have asked those who I hurt to forgive me so I am free from guilt and shame.

Guilt and shame will keep you trapped in a downward spiral. The only way out is to begin telling yourself the truth.

Remind yourself of who Jesus is, how He loves others and how He loves you. Remind yourself of how God thinks about you. You belong to Him. You are his son or his daughter.

2 Corinthians 6:18

What Happens when we have a poor picture of Jesus?

1. We try to make other people or things our Savior. We try to fill our emptiness with something other than the one who loves us the most.
2. We keep returning to the same bad behavior and negative influences. As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his foolishness. Proverbs 26:11
If you want a clearer picture of Jesus it’s important to develop a better connection
