We had 31 folks accept Jesus as their Lord and savior last month
We should always yearn to learn
This is the passage I preached when I received my call into ministry
Jesus used an agricultural example
Soil types: Path - hard and unprepared
Soil types: Rocky soil - little depth to soil
Soil types: Thorns - weeds had grown up
Soil types: Good soil - well prepared
These soils could reflect different seasons in our spiritual lives
They could also reflect different places in our daily lives
The good soil: There is openness in our heart
The good soil: There is a yearning to learn
The good soil: There is a dependency on God rather than the world or self
The good soil: There is a willingness to be used by God - to serve Him
The path? - Not wanting to hear God’s truth?
The rocky soil? - Not taking the time for devotions and study?
The thorny ground? - Relying too much on the world and our abilities rather than on God?
The good soil? - FROG - fully relying on God?
Let us come today and pray for God’s help - in cultivating us as soil
