Reset - an act or instance of setting, adjusting, or fixing something in a new or different way.
1. The church is a movement of people on a mission.
How can we reset our personal lives to align with the mission Jesus gave the church?
2. Every mission has a message.
Acts of the Apostles 8:1b NLT
1b A great wave of persecution began that day, sweeping over the church in Jerusalem; and all the believers except the apostles were scattered through the regions of Judea and Samaria.
3. Methods may change, but the mission and message stay the same.
Acts of the Apostles 8:1b-5 NLT
1b A great wave of persecution began that day, sweeping over the church in Jerusalem; and all the believers except the apostles were scattered through the regions of Judea and Samaria. 2 (Some devout men came and buried Stephen with great mourning.) 3 But Saul was going everywhere to destroy the church. He went from house to house, dragging out both men and women to throw them into prison. 4 But the believers who were scattered preached the Good News about Jesus wherever they went. 5 Philip, for example, went to the city of Samaria and told the people there about the Messiah.
Small Group Outline & Discussion Questions:
Celebrate and Care:
Have each person share a high and low from this past week.

How can we reset our personal lives to align with the mission that Jesus gave the church?
Open Up:
What picture comes to mind when you think of the word “reset”?
Discuss:
Choose one or two questions for your group to discuss as time allows.

▶ What are some growth opportunities that God could be offering us? How could God be using this disruption for good?

▶ How are the questions people had about the future in the early church similar to the questions we have today? Read Acts 1:7.

▶ Read Acts 1:8. Who are the people who could be in your modern day equivalent of “Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the ends of the earth”?

▶ What are some ways God could be calling us to reset our personal lives to align with the mission that Jesus gave the church?
Engage:
Spend 1-2 minutes in silence with these questions then share your thoughts.

How has Jesus impacted your life and how can you share that with others.

With Acts 9:31 as a goal, what is God asking you to do: stay meeting as a group, multiply your group and invite others, or break out and build new groups for the summer?
Pray:
Pray that God clearly leads each person to be connected in this Summer of Small Groups!
