Nearly everyone will face hostile opposition at some point in life.

Let's explore this important time in David's life by considering 3 key three questions.
3 Key Questions...
1. Who hunted David and why?
A. Saul, because he hated him.
Defined = intense hostility and aversion usually deriving from fear, anger, or sense of injury.

2. How is Saul's deep hostility toward David demonstrated?
A. By his manipulation. (1 Sam. 18:20-29)
Defined = to control or play upon by artful, unfair, or insidious means especially to one’s own advantage.

B. By his deception. (1 Sam. 19:1-6, 10-18)
Defined = the act of making someone believe something that is not true

C. By his coercion. (1 Sam. 20:27-31, 22:13-19)
Defined = to compel to an act or choice, to achieve by force or threat

A. He was humble. (He didn't assume his innocence.) (1 Sam. 20:1)

Take away for us:
Opposition is not an indicator of our true spiritual condition, but our response is.
