Context

--We're all spiritually blind
"Blind" is a metaphor for spiritual condition:

Matthew 5:14 They are blind guides leading the blind...

2 Corinthians 4:4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Revelation 3:17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.

Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for theblind
What is it before you, what decision, what relationship, what career, calling that you want to invite Jesus to speak into, to guide you?

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
Beyond Sunday
Discovering God's plan for our lives can be frustrating, but it doesn't have to be. As your Father, God wants you to know His will for your life. This week, we kick off our Imagine Series, by focusing on how God gives sight, so we can see His plans for us.

1. Do you believe God has a plan for your life? Or not? When did you first hear of this concept?

2. What are these passages telling us about spiritual blindness and God? Matthew 5:14, Luke 4:18, 2 Corinthians 4:4, Revelation 3:17

3. Reflect on Mark 8:22-26. What stands out to you in the passage? How is the relationship between Jesus and the blind man similar to any man or woman’s relationship with Jesus?

4. How does Romans 12:1-2 relate to understanding and seeking the will of God? What hinders us from seeing His will? What heals our blindness when seeking His will?

5. In your previous decisions in life, in what ways has God given you sight to see His way? What does Jeremiah 6:16 say about how to discover God’s way when we are at a crossroads in life?

6. In what area of your life (career, finances, health, relationships) do you need sight to discern the will of God. Beside asking for Him to lead you, review the 4 Fold Leadings of Jesus (see below in resources)? Which have been made clear to you? How could you seek out the other ones?
