Light Has ComeNäide

Faith That Moves
When the angels left, the shepherds didn’t sit around debating whether or not to act. The Bible records them saying, “Let us now go to Bethlehem…” Then they “came with haste.” They responded immediately. They moved quickly, without second-guessing.
Their faith journey began with a simple step. Think about the risk they took: they left their herds. They stepped out of their schedule to pursue what God put in front of them. They could have lost their livelihoods. The sheep could have been attacked. Yet they decided God’s invitation was worth the risk.
That’s real faith. Hebrews 11:6 says, “Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
God responds to faith. He rewards those who seek Him.
The shepherds’ immediate obedience led them out of obscurity into greatness. They became the first guests at the manger. They experienced the birth of Christ firsthand. And now, 2,000 years later, we’re still talking about them. Why? Because they responded in faith.
When you respond to God in faith, He reveals your greater purpose. The shepherds didn’t just see Jesus and keep it to themselves. Luke 2:17 says, “Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child.”
They became messengers of the Good News.
Your faith response matters. Maybe God is calling you to turn away from something that’s hurting you and those around you. Maybe He’s calling you to mend a broken relationship. Maybe He’s urging you to ask for help instead of trying to maintain your pride. Maybe He’s calling you to give generously, start something new, or tell someone about Jesus.
Friend, whatever God is speaking to you, don’t just hear it—do it! Don’t be someone who spends your life wondering what might have happened if you had obeyed. The shepherds show us that when we respond in faith, God uses our story to encourage others for generations to come.
Faith starts with one step. What step do you need to take today?
Pray
Father, I don’t want to be a hearer only. Help me with the next step You’re asking me to take, even when it feels risky or uncomfortable. I trust that You reward those who seek You. I’m stepping out in faith today. Amen.
