Miracles Follow Faith

Key Verse: These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. 18 They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. In Luke 5, when Jesus told Simon to go out into the deep and let down his nets again, he obeyed despite having spent the whole night catching nothing. The result was nets so full they began to break, and boats so full they nearly sank. This miraculous catch wasn’t just about fish, it was a picture of what happens when we act in faith and follow Jesus’ instructions.

Think of someone who senses God prompting them to reach out to a lonely neighbor or co-worker, and sees their life change because of a simple act of love. Or a business owner who chooses to forgive a partner who wronged him, only to see new doors of opportunity open.

God desires to work through us. Jesus could have brought the fish in Himself, but He chose to involve Simon in the miracle. Similarly, He calls us to be vessels that display His power and reveal His kingdom (2 Timothy 2:20–21).

This can look like praying for a sick friend, choosing integrity at work when no one notices, or simply obeying the prompting of the Holy Spirit in your life. Faith without action is dead (James 2:26), and every step of obedience — big or small — creates space for God to move. When we respond faithfully, God moves powerfully.

I remember stepping out in faith to pray for someone with a severe eye infection that she was battling for many days. Some time later, she let me know God had healed her that very day.

Miracles follow faith. Step into deeper waters of faith, even when it feels risky or uncertain. As you obey, trust that He will work miracles in your life and in the lives of others through you.
