Who Is the Holy Spirit?

DAY 4 OF 5

Find Your New Normal

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, withthanksgiving,

let your requests be made known to God; andthe peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV)

Two of the enemy’s favorite weapons are fear and anxiety. He uses them to steal our peace, joy, and confidence in God. But here’s the good news: As believers, we are never alone in this fight. God has given us His Holy Spirit—not just to comfort us, but to empower us to live free from fear.

Sometimes we have to face our fears head-on. And that can be hard. But the Holy Spirit gives us the courage and strength to move forward when we feel afraid, and one of the most powerful ways He helps us is by replacing fear with peace and truth.

You see, when we feel anxious, it’s often because we’re believing a lie or focusing too much on our circumstances. But the Holy Spirit comes alongside us to remind us of God’s promises. The Holy Spirit will speak truth to your heart when fear is shouting lies in your mind. He’ll remind you that God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV). That’s not just a nice verse—that’s a promise you can stand on!

As a young woman, anxiety and fear were the “norm” for me. Because I had been sexually abused as a child, I was extremely pessimistic and always feared the worst. I always expected something bad to happen. And, as a result, I was also quite miserable. But that’s not God’s normal—His normal is peace and joy. He wants us to live each day filled with faith, secure in His love...and expecting Him to do great things in our lives.

The Holy Spirit is not distant. He is your constant companion—your friend, your guide, your comforter. And with His help, you can walk in peace and confidence, no matter what comes your way.

When anxiety starts to creep in, you can say, “Holy Spirit, I need Your peace right now. Remind me of who I am in Christ. Help me trust You more than I trust my feelings.” And He will! He’s faithful to bring peace that goes beyond understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Remember, fear may come knocking—but you don’t have to let it in. Together, with the Holy Spirit, you are stronger than fear.

Let’s Pray: “Holy Spirit, I need You. I surrender my fears and worries to You right now. Fill me with Your peace. Remind me of God’s love and truth. Help me take every anxious thought captive and replace it with Your Word. Thank You for being with me every moment. I trust You, and I choose peace today. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

Thought for the Day: God wants to give you a new normal—a life full of peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
