“Just watch my servant blossom! Exalted, tall, head and shoulders above the crowd! But he didn’t begin that way. At first everyone was appalled. He didn’t even look human— a ruined face, disfigured past recognition. Nations all over the world will be in awe, taken aback, kings shocked into silence when they see him. For what was unheard of they’ll see with their own eyes, what was unthinkable they’ll have right before them.”

As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men

Just as many were astonished at you, My people, So His appearance was marred more than any man And His form more than the sons of men.

Many people were shocked when they saw him. His appearance was so damaged he did not look like a man; his form was so changed they could barely tell he was human.

Like as many were astonished at thee (his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men)

Just as there were many who were appalled at him— his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any human being and his form marred beyond human likeness

Just as many were astonished at you, So His visage was marred more than any man, And His form more than the sons of men

Just as many were astonished and appalled at you, My people, So His appearance was marred more than any man And His form [marred] more than the sons of men.

But many were amazed when they saw him. His face was so disfigured he seemed hardly human, and from his appearance, one would scarcely know he was a man.

Just as many were appalled at the sight of him (for so marred was his appearance, like an object of horror; he no longer looked like a man)

As many were astonished at you— his appearance was so marred, beyond human semblance, and his form beyond that of the children of mankind
