1 Corinthians 5:1

There are moments when the church stops feeling like home. Not because God has changed, but because people fail. The Bible never promised a perfect church, but it does give us a perfect Savior. This 4-day devotional is for those who have been hurt, confused, or disappointed within the church. Through Scripture, we will explore how to respond to church hurt, restore relationships, and build healthier communities. The first epistle to the Corinthians covers several issues that are relevant to Christians today. By drawing lessons from 1 Corinthians 1-7, Dr. David Mende encourages us to live for Christ in a corrupt world.

The church at Corinth was plagued by internal division and sinful derision. Paul provides the only solution potent enough for their disunity and spiritual disruptions: “Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (1 Corinthians 1:10). 1 Corinthians reminds us that by focusing on Jesus and His glorious resurrection, we too will “be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the word of the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58).
