The Throne of Grace

Hebrews 4:15–16 is a profound invitation. It tells us that we do not have a High Priest who is distant or indifferent, but one who sympathizes with our weaknesses. Jesus was tempted in every way yet remained without sin. This is not just theological information—it’s the foundation of our confidence. Because of Him, we are invited to come boldly to the throne of grace.

But what does it mean to come boldly? Boldness here is not arrogance or entitlement. It’s certainty rooted in the finished work of Christ. Our High Priest didn’t leave anything undone. He completed the work, sat down at the right hand of the Father, and now intercedes for us. That’s why we can approach the throne—not with fear, but with assurance.

At this throne, we obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Mercy is not just for sinners—it’s for the weary, the broken, the confused, the betrayed. It’s for anyone in need. The throne of grace is not a place of condemnation but of compassion. And the basis of our boldness is not our performance, but His perfection.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for being my High Priest who understands my struggles. I come boldly—not because I am worthy, but because You are. Let Your mercy meet me today at the throne of grace. Help me to live in the confidence of Your finished work.
