NO LIMITS TO RIGHTEOUSNESS
Righteousness means to be in right standing with God; to be approved by the Lord; to live in right relationship with God. It carries the sense of justice with it. This is a gift and cannot be attained through good works. The religious righteousness that is attained through the keeping of the Law is filthy rags to God. Jesus Christ became sin for us through He knew no sin, so that we could become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. In this righteousness, we are a new creation, reconciled and forgiven. This righteousness cannot be improved. It is the righteousness of Christ, and in it we stand without offence before God the Father. Righteousness is not achieved; it is received. It is a gift to be enjoyed and not a journey to be endured. God’s part is to make us righteous. Our part is to live in that righteousness in the fear and honour of the Lord who paid the ultimate price to obtain it. Here we find our sabbath rest.
Therefore, I declare how wonderful it is to stand before God with the status of righteousness. I am forgiven and justified before God in Christ. There is therefore now no condemnation against me by the law. I thank you, Lord, for giving me the gift of righteousness. I do not need to pretend before you. I do not need to achieve anything to please you. You have declared me righteous. I receive and enjoy my status in you. I will walk and live in this righteousness to the glory of God here on earth and in the world to come. I am confident in your presence, knowing that I am accepted in the beloved Son of God.
