God Guides You Along the Way

We all need direction. There are seasons in life when we feel lost, when the decisions ahead seem overwhelming, and confusion leaves us paralyzed. Joseph went through that too.
Genesis 37:14–17 shows a young man sent by his father to look for his brothers. Joseph couldn’t find them; he was wandering in the fields. But suddenly, a man appeared and told him where they were.

In Genesis 37:15 (NIV) we read:

“While Joseph was wandering in the fields, a man found him and asked, ‘What are you looking for?’”

Joseph didn’t know where his brothers were, but that seemingly random encounter was key to fulfilling God’s plan for his life.

At first glance, it seems like a small, insignificant detail. But it was crucial. That meeting was one piece of the great puzzle God was putting together to lead Joseph toward his purpose.

Haven’t you ever looked back and realized how God placed certain people, advice, or situations in your path that seemed like coincidences—but were actually part of His plan for you? That’s how God works: He guides us even when we think we’re lost.

When you feel stuck or directionless, remember this: God is with you. He places the right people and the right opportunities before you so you can reach where He wants to take you. His guidance doesn’t always come with a clear map, but it always comes with the assurance of His presence.

Talk with God and open your heart:

Dear Lord, thank You because I am never alone. When I feel lost, Your love finds me. Thank You for using people and circumstances to guide me toward Your purpose. Help me to recognize Your voice, to keep my heart soft, and to walk confidently in Your direction. I want to rest in You and know that every step is under Your care. Amen.

• Has God placed people in your life with a purpose?
