God’s Strengthening Word: Singing for JoySample

Introduction
Matthew 25:31–46: Today’s reading concludes Jesus’s apocalyptic discourse with a parable that describes the judgment that will take place at his return. Up to this point, the Lord’s warnings have focused on his followers’ need to be watchful and ready for his return, but today we hear about the judgment that will take place “when the Son of Man comes.”
Today’s Key Verse: Matthew 25:34a GNT
Then the King will say to the people on his right, “Come, you that are blessed by my Father!”
Reflect
How are the two groups of people in today’s reading described? How will each group be treated? What does today’s reading teach you about how to live your life today? According to Jesus, in what ways can people show God’s love to others? In what ways do you show God’s love to others?
Pray
God of grace and mercy, teach me live in a way that reflects and demonstrates your love to others. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
Jeremiah 31:1–14: The prophet foretells a time when God will restore all the tribes of Israel as one nation.
