God’s Strengthening Word: Singing for JoySample

Introduction
Ezekiel 36:1–15: God promises to take revenge on those who ravaged Israel’s mountains. He will restore the land and provide a home for his people when they return from exile.
Today’s Key Verse: Ezekiel 36:11b GNT
[The LORD said]: “I will let you live there as you used to live, and I will make you more prosperous than ever. Then you will know that I am the LORD.”
Reflect
The mountains cited in today’s reading probably refer to the land which enemies had captured from Israel and claimed as their own (see Ezekiel 35:12). Israel’s population had been reduced by war, famine, and forced exile. In what ways will God restore the land? What promises are made to the people? Where is restoration needed in the world today?
Pray
Sovereign God, all nations are under your care. Bring peace and restoration to countries seeking to recover from the aftermath of war and violence. Teach me to be an instrument of your peace and to bring words of comfort and hope to those I know are hurting. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
Ezekiel 36:16–38: God promises to cleanse Israel of its sins.
