35 Day Prayer PlanSample

Day 11 – Interceding for Leaders & Authorities
It is easy to critique leaders but harder to pray for them. Regardless of your political ideals, Scripture is clear: those in positions of authority need our intercession. Paul instructs believers to pray for rulers so that society may flourish in peace and godliness. Your intercession can protect godly leaders and draw leaders far away from Him into a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Leaders carry heavy responsibilities in government, workplaces, schools, or even the church. They make decisions that affect the lives of many, often under pressure and scrutiny. Our prayers can be a source of strength, wisdom, and protection for them.
Paul encouraged us in Romans 13 to be good citizens by following the laws of the land, praying for our leaders, and even being conscientious enough to pay our taxes. This act of submission is done unto the Lord. When we are good citizens and pray for our leaders, we obey God's words.
Even when leaders do not follow God, we are still called to lift them before Him, asking that His purposes prevail. Interceding for leaders is not agreeing with every decision but trusting God to direct their hearts as He sees fit.
Today, pray for leaders in your community, nation, and world. Ask God to guide them with wisdom, integrity, and courage.
