DAY 221 OF 365

9-Faith's Fruit Now that we've seen the reality of God's wrath, our universal guilt as sinners, our inability to justify ourselves, and our justification by faith, we're now shown the fruit produced by our faith. "Wait a second. I thought the fruit of our faith was forgiveness." Oh it is, but that's not all there is. The fruit of our faith extends far beyond forgiving our sins. For instance, faith also produces peace with God (Romans 5:1). Whether we realize it or not, all of us were enemies with God prior to being believers in Christ. The Bible is absolutely clear that we were at war with the Lord (Ephesians 2:2-3). And, it goes without saying that we were bound to lose that war. But through our faith, we're at peace with God. We join His side, and now we're fighting a battle we can't lose (Romans 8:31). Another fruit of our faith is access to God (Romans 5:2). No matter where we're at or what time it is, our faith in Christ gives us instant and unrestricted access to God Almighty. Just think that through. At any time you choose, you're able to have an audience with the Ancient of Days, the King of kings, the Alpha and Omega! God will never tell you to come back later or that He's too busy. Why? All because of faith. The next fruit is a heart that rejoices in the hope of heaven (Romans 5:2). No matter what happens to you here on planet earth, your faith has secured something for you that outshines the darkest darkness of this world. Heaven! It's where you're headed, so next time you're discouraged or depressed, think about heaven and be reminded that it's going to be your eternal home (John 14:1-3). Our faith produces more fruit than this, but allow these three to suffice for today, and be sure to thank God for gifting them to you. Now that we've seen the reality of God's wrath, our universal guilt as sinners, our inability to justify ourselves, and our justification by faith, we're now shown the fruit produced by our faith. Think about it... What does this passage reveal to me about God? What does this passage reveal to me about myself? Based on this, what changes do I need to make? What is my prayer for today?
