DAY 104 OF 365

Your Wedding Day Psalm Chapter 45 is essentially a wedding song. It describes the joyous celebration of a great king receiving his bride, and the long lineage of God's favor that would follow their union. But when we pull back and look at this Psalm through a New Testament lens, we find there's a prophetic element to this wedding song that points to the King of Kings. We know this because the writer of Hebrews uses the verse above and specifically applies it to Jesus (Hebrews 1:8). So when we read Psalm 45, we're not only seeing something that took place in the past. We're also looking toward a future event that's going to involve those of us who have placed our faith in Christ. At the end of the age, Jesus is going to be fully and finally revealed to His precious bride, the Church (2 Corinthians 11:2). Here's how the Apostle John describes it in the Book of Revelation: And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! "Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready." Revelation 19:6-7 (NKJV) It's going to be a wedding like never before, and we'll be right in the center of it all as the favored bride. You probably didn't expect to read about yourself in the book of Psalms, much less your own wedding day. But there it is, and one day soon we'll be there in the presence of the King of Kings. Give us hearts, our Great Groom, to stay faithful and patient until that great and glorious day when we see you face to face. At the end of the age, Jesus is going to be fully and finally revealed to His precious bride, us, the Church. Think about it... What does this passage reveal to me about God? What does this passage reveal to me about myself? Based on this, what changes do I need to make? What is my prayer for today?
