The Table, a Series on CommunitySample

The disciples were the original disciple-makers for the Church we know today! Discipleship in the context of the Rabbi, which is what Jesus was, consisted of living out your daily life submitted to the lifestyle and teachings of the rabbi (teacher) you followed. Literally, the dust of the rabbi would kick up behind him as he walked the streets followed by his disciples who looked like a group of ducklings following their mama! The Rabbi was devoted to his disciples just as the disciples were devoted to their teacher.
This is what discipleship is...living life together, learning from one another, and submitting to the rabbi. This Scripture instructs the disciples to go and make more disciples. Jesus says, "You were discipled to make disciples!" Committing your life to living the way of Jesus and investing in others is a calling.

About this Plan

Thanksgiving is a season of unity, community, and fellowship. We center around the table — the place where we gather to enjoy each other. We come to God’s table as a community of believers, bringing our authentic selves to receive all God has for us. This series explores what we can bring to the table and what God has in store for us when we do!
