She Reads Truth: Galatians

DAY 3 OF 15

GRACE TO RUN It is important to know a little bit about Paul's past when reading this portion of scripture.  Paul's call as an apostle was suspect for two main reasons: he was not one of the original 12 with Jesus, and he was previously a hater of Christ and a persecutor of the church.   Paul tells us about his return to Jerusalem, meeting with the leaders of the church to tell them of his message he was preaching.  There are a few things that stand out to me as he recalls going before the leaders of the church. Paul went before these leaders to confirm that his mission was from God - that he was not running in vain.  But while these men were leaders, Paul didn't care about appearances or status: God doesn't care about that stuff either.  These leaders affirmed Paul's mission, and asked that he remember the poor as they go.  We as humans are different, but we are equal.  He created each one of us with the grace to run and share His promise with others: the outward appearances do not matter.   - Is God urging you to share and do something that some might consider a risk?  Has He given you a vision with grace to run? - Do you have friends, family, a mentor, a pastor, small group with whom you can share your visions?  People who can hold you accountable, even when it hurts? - The last thing Paul and Barnabas were asked to remember was the poor.  Are we eager to help the poor, in every definition of the word?   Visit the link below join the conversation with the She Reads Truth community! http://bit.ly/SRTGalatiansDay3
