Ask Seek Knock - Sermon on the MountSample

Sometimes it can feel like we’ve been praying for something for a long time and haven’t seen God answer our prayers yet. We might have a set outcome that we want to see happen and a timeline that we’ve decided is best. Do you think God works on our schedule or His? The Bible encourages us to keep hoping, keep praying and put our trust in God. God knows far more than we do; He knows what’s best for us. We can trust that God's timing is best, and keep praying.
Praying isn’t just going to God to ask Him over and over again for what we want, for selfish reasons. The more we get to know God and His Word, the more we get to know His nature and character. When we pray, we can ask God to have His way in the situations we’re praying about and what we’re praying for. We might not know exactly what God’s will is, but we can grow to know Him. We know that He is powerful, almighty, loving, and that nothing is impossible for Him. Jesus teaches us to ask, seek, knock. When we knock the door will be opened!
