James encourages us to keep in mind those things that await the faithful and to be patient until that day. Thousands of years of history have proved that we need divine direction and rule if we are ever to become what God created us to be. So much of our history has been marred with wars and heartbreak. That will all change when Christ comes. He teaches us to pray: Your kingdom come (Matthew 6:10). May that prayer follow us through this day, and may we also be patient until our Lord comes.
