Abiding in the Psalms

DAY 33 OF 63

Praising God Why do we praise God? Our passage today begins with the phrase ‘Praise the Lord.’ All throughout the psalms we see this phrase. On a Sunday and a Friday night at youth group we also praise God in the form of singing at the beginning and end of every service. The answer to why we praise the Lord is potentially endless, but this psalm gives us a great start. We see that God is worthy of worship because of who He is and because of His great works. Praising God is not restricted to times of public gathering. We can praise God when we’re alone, even whilst we are going about our day. It could be as simple as thanking God for what you are doing in the moment. As we begin to praise God in any and every situation, we will see that our heart becomes more attuned to the reality that God is worthy of praise for all good things, big and small. Questions 1\. What elements of God's character make Him praiseworthy in this psalm? 2\. What are the works of God that make Him praiseworthy? 3\. How can you praise God? Pray Spend some time listening to some music, praying to God, and praising Him for who He is and what He has done.
