Our Destiny is in Our Hands
This entire chapter is about the selfishness an greed of the wicked, and their fate: "a fire not blown shall consume him." This is referring to a fire that is not man-made, but of divine origin. This is the fire of Hell, which is prepared by God for the devil and his angels (Matt. 25:41).
The moral of this chapter is that there is a Heaven to gain and a Hell to shun; and our conduct here, on earth, will influence where we will end up.
Will we live selfish, unhappy lives; damning us for eternity? Or will we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, and let His unselfish love and character shine through our lives, so that we may be prepared for eternal paradise? The choice is ours.
