Job Spoke of His Glorified Body
In this text, it almost sounds as if Job is claiming that he will see God immediately upon death. However, if you read the passage closely, you will see that is not the case. He says that in his "flesh" he will see God.
Even those who believe and teach that we go straight to Heaven upon death don't believe that we will do so in a physical body. They say we will ascend to Heaven as spirits, later to be united with our glorified bodies at Jesus' return. However, this is not scriptural.
Job spoke of the sleep of death in Job 14:12. When Jesus returns, the righteous saints will be resurrected (awoken from their sleep) and given glorified bodies, in which they will meet the Lord (1 Cor. 15:50-53; 1 Thess. 4:16-17). This is what Job was talking about.
