Faith with Feet - A Peace Talk
James 4: 1-4
1. Pursue the other party
Go and reconcile. Restore relationships. Don't let the sun go down on your anger. Don't wait for the person to come you. Go and make amends before them.
2. Empathize with their feelings and perspective
• Philippians 2:4
Don't look out for your own interest, look out for the interest of others. Pay careful attention to other's feeling and perspective. Don't tell people that they shouldn't feel that way but understand. Don't interrupt them just so you can fix the problem. LISTEN.
3. Attack the problem not the person
• Proverbs 15:1
You never will fix the problem if you are so focused on the blame.
4. Compromise as much as possible
Take responsibilities for what bad you put into the relationship. Something's are not able for compromise like the position you stand on in your faith. Don't compromise to a persons legalism. In all matters there should be love. There should be a tone of grace.
5. Emphasize reconciliation
• 1 Peter2:23
When you go to the person the goal is to reestablish and harmony. Not to get back what you have lost, or to get even. Reconciliation will always cost you something, there is not a two way street.
