Do We Deny Him
Peter denied the Lord three times but we think to ourselves, "I would not do that." Do we still deny Him today? Do we deny Him in our priorities, following after our own dreams when He said, he that loses his life for me will find it and, you are not your own, you are bought with a price? Do we deny Him in our silence when we should have told of His great love and power that rescued us, when we stand silently by as thousands in our own area are murdered when He said "Rescue those who are unjustly sentenced to die;
save them as they stagger to their death"? Do we deny Him when we have isolated and insulated ourselves from the hurting, confused world around us when we should have been caring for the 'least of these'? Jesus said the publican who beat his breast and said, 'God be merciful to me a sinner' when home forgiven. Maybe this is still an appropriate response for us today.
