Still, He will take you there
He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, and everything they owned, as well as all the servants they had gotten in Haran. They set out from Haran, planning to go to the land of Canaan, and in time they arrived there. (Genesis 12:5 NCV)
God gave a command that Abraham should leave Haran and go to Canaan. Surely Abram must have encountered obstacles, delays, challenges and stumbling blocks on the way. Yet he arrived there because God was with him. He got to the land because God is a promise keeper. He is not man that he should lie. Typically a man of faith, Abraham did not ask how, why or when the promise will happen. He took God at His word. He just believed that God is able to do what He has spoken. Your business when God speaks is not to help God perform what He has spoken. Your business or part is not to doubt or question how what God has spoken will be done. Your part is to believe in God and His promise. God's business is to perform what He has spoken. Don't ask how will it be done. Just believe what He has spoken concerning the situation. God will not do the believing for you and you cannot do the performing for God.
In spite of the darkness your light will shine. In spite of the situation looking like you are on the losing side, you will not lose. God's side is the winning side. God's side never loses even when it looks like the opposition has the edge. And because you are on God's side you cannot lose. Yes you are faced with great obstacles but still, He will take you there. It looks like your expectation has been delayed or will not come. Still, He will take you there. Looks like you are losing. But still, God will take you there. It looks like God has abandoned you or failed you. Still, He will take you there. It looks like God is punishing you for some sin- real or imaginary. Yet, He will take you there.
I have news for you. God is a Father. He may discipline but He does not punish. We make God look like a man when we think like that. It is only man that will hold a mistake against you and use it to deny you good. God will never tell His child because you have sinned I will leave you in your trouble or pain. He knows your pain. He knows your situation. It may look slow. It may look like nothing is happening. Remember the fig tree. Leaves are still green and thriving yet dead from the roots. Stop looking at the leaves. The root of your problem is dead. It's only a matter of time. The leaves will soon wither. Walk by faith not by sight. When you walk by sight all you will see are the green leaves still standing, bubbling and laughing. Then you will get weak and discouraged. But when you walk by faith and believe God's word or promise for the situation you will be encouraged.
On his way to the palace Joseph faced many trials and temptations. Still God brought his dream to come to pass. Still, God took him to the palace. David had been anointed king. But on the way to becoming king he encountered many trials and temptations. Many times Saul tried to kill him. He was hunted like an animal many times. It looked like the promise will not come to pass. Still, God took him there. Your problem is not big enough to halt your promise. God will still take you there. The mountain of opposition is not big enough to stop God. And because you are on God's side the mountain of opposition cannot stop you. God will take you there. God is bringing you out of that place of shame (Haran) and taking you to your place of glory and honor (Canaan). Between Haran and Canaan the road is filled with potholes, obstacles, mountains and opposition. Still, He will take you there. You will reach your Canaan. Abraham got to Canaan. You will get to yours. God took him there. He will take you there. But fix your eyes on the roots of the problem by fixing your eyes on the promises of God. As long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, He was walking on water. The root of that problem is dead. Why are you looking at the leaves ? Soon the leaves will dry because the source of it's sustenance is dead.
Fear not. Doubt not. Worry not. God will take you there. In God's due season, He will take you there. There is a season for every thing. When your season comes, nothing can stop you. He will take you there.
