Happy is the Man Whom God Correcteth
The implication here is, the one who accepts God's reproof will be happy. The person who is knowingly sinning is in a state of misery because he is fighting against the Holy Spirit. He is at war with his conscience; and that torments the soul.
It is better to forsake our known sins and be at peace with God, than to fulfill our lustful desires but be wretched inside. That's how this verse speaks to me.
