God is not too busy for you and me. In fact he delights in having fellowship with each and every one of his children. His door is always open. His ears are always listening. His care is always immediate and dependable. Revelation 3:20, written to the carnal and spiritually lukewarm church at Laodicea, comes to mind…
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.(NIV)
Verses 1-2. What unadulterated grounds for.. praise..and worship! What truth..and lovingkindness. Notice how inseparably linked the Lord’s name..is with his Word. The two cannot be separated. If his word was not true, he would not be true … and visa versa. No wonder one of his names.. is..the Word!
Jn 1:1, 14 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” “And the Word became flesh..and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
Verse 3. The living and personal God of individuals hears and answers prayer.
1 Jn 5:14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
Verse 4-5. The living and personal God of individuals is the.. sovereign of history. One day, he will dwell on the earth in person and all the kings of the earth will praise him for his words and sing about them on their way home.
Verse 6. The living and personal God of individuals is open and completely available.
Isa 57:15 For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, With him also who has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
Verse 7. The living and personal God of individuals is the ever present help and caretaker of his own. For example:
1 Cor 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
Verse 8. The living and personal God of individuals is active in perfecting his people and will perfect each and every one completely.
Phil 1:6 …being confident of this very thing, that.. He who has begun a good work in you will complete it..until the day of Jesus Christ…
1 Jn 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
"I will praise thee with my whole heart.." indeed! (the opening statement of this Psalm)
