Peter [solid as a rock] was the first disciple that Jesus recruited. They had a special bound not that Jesus didn't have a bound with the other, but Jesus saw something in Peter that he himself couldn't. Just like Jesus is seeing something in us that we cannot see or even understand. I believe that Jesus and Peter and Jesus spend sometime together before the other disciples were enlisted. The bible doesn't tell us how long after Jesus instructed Peter to follow Him, He engage with James and John. Peter was the first one enlisted of the disciples and became one of men that was always with Jesus along side James and John. One could argue that because the first three could symbolized perfection which we know that three in the bible is the number of perfection. Peter came to love Jesus very much, and when Jesus announced His death for the first time openly to all His disciples Peter took him aside and rebuke Jesus [Mark 8:32-33]. To do that Peter was honest, what should he gain from rebuke Jesus aside? If he would have done that in the presence of the other he could have gain "something". Peter was afraid to loose Jesus cause he didn't see himself coping without Jesus. Jesus rebuke Peter infront of the others to make a point clear. That is that prophecy needs to be fulfill and to give them hope. Hope that they are still having Jesus around for a while and that Jesus would overcome the death. Of all people one would argue that Peter would be the lest to deny Jesus. Sometimes we also deny Jesus in the things we do when we do wrong in the sight of the Lord. Jesus said to Peter you shall deny me three times before the roaster cry [Mark 14:30]. Peter denied Jesus three time he denied the [Father/Son/Holy Spirit]. Jesus didn't hate Peter for that He showed him love. In the Gospel of John, after Jesus was resurrected Jesus had to show Himself to the disciples. To comfort them and He asked Peter three time on different occasion "Peter do you love Me"? And Peter answered Jesus yes on all three times. Repairing the love between Peter and [Father/Son/Holy Spirit] making their friendship complete again from brokeness. Today Jesus want to do just that with you repair the relationship between you and Him. We as people have disappoint Jesus so many times but He has been faithful. He loves you with perfections something so amazing you have to experience it firsthand. Come those who are weary He awaits you be bless beloveds.
