1 Kings 11 -- Will Your Life Keep the Blessings or Remove Them?
In I Kings 11, we see how unfaithfulness can can bring about the removal of God's blessing in our lives and the lives of our family. God had promised David that his family would forever be blessed because of David's complete faithfulness to God, as long as David's descendants continued in the same manner. However, ironically, the wisest man in the world and the very first generation after King David was responsible for God's hand being lifted from the the line of David. God told Solomon to not marry foreign women because they would take away his heart from God, but Solomon did it anyway. Apparantly God is still wiser than the wisest man on Earth! This is how so many of us live, thinking we know better than God and we are exceptions to the Lord's guidance, but our entire history is filled with evidence of God's truth and no one has ever proven the Lord wrong. So we all have a choice: be the person who brings blessings into your family due to your faithfulness or the person who removes that blessing because you refuse to listen to the Lord. My problem is that God has blessed me with such wisdom and understanding that I think I know better than God, but I know that God is much smarter than me so my only choice is to bring blessings or curses into my home.
