1 Kings 1 -- Seize Your Promise or the Enemy Will Steal It
In 1 Kings 1, we see how Adonijah attempted to usurp the throne from his brother, Solomon, whom the throne had already been promised to by the Lord. We also see how Nathaniel, the prophet of God, interceded to warn about this and then how bathsheba, who received the promise worked to ensure the dream was fulfilled. In these actions, I believe the Lord is teaching me that His plans for us must be fought for and worked towards as the enemy will continually work to rob us of our dreams and of our disciples' dreams. Like Nathaniel, we must recognize when the enemy is working to steal our dream and like Bathsheba we must bring that to the king's attention (The King of Kings) and like Samuel, go out and receive the promise. We must also be aware of the dreams of our disciples and intercede for them on their behalf, just like Nathan did. I have some amazing dreams from the Lord (change the world for Jesus) but that also means the enemy is working to steal that dream away from as I get closer to achieving it. As for my people, I have to bring to their attention how the enemy is attempting to rob them of their dreams, especially as they get closer to receiving His promises. Our blessings can and will be robbed by the enemy if we do not guard against Him.
