Who Gets The Glory?
May I be quick to discern in each person I meet how I can help You in freeing that soul still more from sin and lifting it to a life of righteousness. Amen.
W.O.E- Isa 50:10-11
10 Who among you fears ADONAI?
Who obeys what his servant says?
Even when he walks in the dark,
without any light,
he will trust in ADONAI 's reputation
and rely on his God.
11 But all of you who are lighting fires
and arming yourselves with firebrands:
go, walk in the flame of your own fire,
among the firebrands you lit!
From my hands this [fate] awaits you:
you will lie down in torment.-The seeking of Jehovah for only self fulfillment is a a dangerous destination. You may find your hearts desires and even justify your own existence, but you will lose true peace and contentment brought by the Holy Spirit and worse yet, you will lose the validation of God and His glory and mercy over your life because you will believe you shine over His light. Be careful who gets the glory.
Isaiah exhorted the Servant's followers-- those who fear the Lord and obey His Word, but who are in the dark (i. e., living in difficult times when the Servant was rejected, v. 6)-- to walk by faith, trusting in the... Lord. If they insist on walking by their own light they will suffer the fate of those who reject Him. They will lie down in torment (cf. Luke 16: 23, 28; also note Rev. 20: 13- 15; 21: 8). This admonition was directed to those living in Isaiah's day. But all who refuse to trust the Lord will suffer eternal damnation.BKC
If we walk by our own light and reject God's, we become self-sufficient, and the result of self-sufficiency is torment. When we place confidence in our own intelligence, appearance, or accomplishments instead of in God, we risk torment later when these strengths fade.
Real Fear is paralysing. False Fear in faith can cause doubt that leads to unfulfillment and regret.
