Is God's promise hard for you to believe?
In my devotion time I was led to read Genesis 18. In this passage a son is promised to Sarah and Abraham, who were both very old. Verses 12-14 are what inspired this note.
In verse 12, Sarah laughed at the promise, stating the reasons she lacked faith. Has God promised you something and because of your focus on your situation you lack faith in His promise? Sarah felt her and her husband were to old to enjoy such pleasure. In verse 13, God asks Abraham why does she doubt because of her age. We may feel certain things should disqualify us BUT God specializes in using what should have disqualified us and making the impossible possible. Verse 14 God asks, "Is there anything too hard for the Lord?" Think about that promise that you feel inadequate to receive because of your past, your age, your appearance, etc. God is asking why do you doubt, I am the All powerful All knowing Lord, I know who you and what I want to give you, what can be too hard for me? Finally in the last sentence of verse 14 God reiterates His promise. View this note as God reminding you that He is ready, willing, and able to fulfill His promise to you. So don't laugh at the promise and blow it off, don't feel inadequate, don't doubt, believe and position yourself to receive, by being obedient to His word.
Blessed because I am a blessing!
