No greater insult
The sorrow and bitterness that can grip our hearts when we follow God's heart only so far and them lose trust!
We see this anger in disillusioned Christians, atheists and sometimes in ourselves; we are somehow convinced that God has let us down, that He had brought us to destruction when He promised us so much!
Like Peter when he got out of the boat and, having had faith for a part, lost it when he saw the waves, we too can have faith for the journey until we see the waves, the giants, the fortified cities and conclude that or loving saviour has led us up a dead end.
But He hasn't.
But imagine you have bought a birthday present for someone you love, it was expensive but you know it's going to be really useful for them and you make them walk into the room while you cover their eyes so it's a surprise: you remove your hands from their eyes to reveal the gift and say "ta-da!!" but far from being grateful, they accuse you of wanting to cause them harm and sorrow.
Hurts, doesn't it?
