What Does the Way I Respond to Trials and/or Sorrows Say About My Faith?
This is one of the toughest passages in Scripture for me to swallow, because there are two ways I look at it: 1. That's an awfully convenient way to say that There will be periods and/or situations that really suck that You will appear to be MIA, and 2. All that you have done for me is enough evidence to prove that You are trustworthy and I should be able to endure any temporary bump in the road. The crux ofnthe matter is that I also feel as though I have done such a poor job of handling the little trials and sorrows that life has brought my way, that God has held me back year after year. Or to put it another way, because my faith is so small (due to a lack of exercise) I am used in such a limited way. Now maybe I am wrong on multiple fronts, but I sometimes wonder why I so often feel as though I could be doing more for God's Kingdom.
I will be quicker to turn to those things that get me in the mindset of the joy and peace I have in Christ when facing tough days at work or elsewhere. I will turn the discouraging thoughts
that I am having about what i am going through and turn it around by finding someone to encourage, either through sending a communication ton them or through prayer.
Heavenly Father, I thank and praise You for sending Your Son to overcome all that was keeping us apart that I would have never been able to overcome on my own. I humbly ask for the strength and faith to keep my eyes off of myself and on You and those who pass through my mind while encountering to rials and sorrows of any kind so that I may further develop my faith and be able to do more for Your Kingdom and become more like the child You intended mype to be from the beginning. In Your Son's name I pray. Amen.
