Genesis 26: 12-22 if you have been renting or do not own land you call upon Jehovah Rehboth to give you YOUR land! For the sake of posterity you need to pray for your piece of land!
Prophetic word: Your days of renting are over, God will give you wisdom as to how you will get land/property.
David 2 Samuel
When David steps into operating as a king, the first thing he does is seek the presence of God. The ark of the covenant=God's presence and wherever it was there was victory. God gave it as a sign to His people.
Take note of the words "new cart" in verse 3:
They placed the Chest of God on a brand-new oxcart and removed it from Abinadab's house on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, Abinadab's sons, were driving the new cart (2 Samuel 6:3 MSG)
The scriptures indicate that the ark must ONLY be put on the shoulders of the priests, and David goes and places it on a new cart. David thinks that this is ok, he thinks he is putting the kingdom first but when you violate God's orders, trouble comes.
So it doesn't mean if you have zeal and passion that God will just accept anything....He has out His rules in place to help you! God doesn't want help; He wants obedience.
So often, in your walk with God, even though you have a zeal and desire to please God, things don't always work out the way you plan it.
David is confused by what happens....it says he is angry and yet God doesn't hold it against David, but he still had to get the order right!
David's passion is to see God's presence and there is something about him that got God's attention.
Back to the story...
It was reported to King David that God had prospered Obed-Edom and his entire household because of the Chest of God. So David thought, "I'll get that blessing for myself," and went and brought up the Chest of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David, celebrating extravagantly all the way, with frequent sacrifices of choice bulls. (2 Samuel 6:12, 13 MSG)
Obed-Edom prospered because God's presence was there....There was order in his house because of the presence...see Isaiah 9:6
So according to Isaiah: The Government of God is carried upon the shoulders of priests, so look at 1 Peter 2:9
YOU as the sons and daughters of God are to carry, uphold the presence of God, the government of God. YOU are a royal priesthood....
But the government, the order of God is also in you!
Nor when someone says, 'Look here!' or, 'There it is!' And why? Because God's kingdom is already among you." (Luke 17:21 MSG)
So when you are in a place....there is order and blessing! In your work, in your school, WHEREVER you are you bring God's order.
You see in the pursuit of God, He doesn't worry as much about your mistakes, it's more about our heart and desire for Him! David goes and enquires and realises that the Ark of the covenant God is to be carried by God's priests and he again desires to get God's presence....
David, ceremonially dressed in priest's linen, danced with great abandon before God. The whole country was with him as he accompanied the Chest of God with shouts and trumpet blasts. (2 Samuel 6:12-15 MSG)
So when David succeeded after having failed, the people rejoiced with him save for his wife Michal:
But as the Chest of God came into the City of David, Michal, Saul's daughter, happened to be looking out a window. When she saw King David leaping and dancing before God, her heart filled with scorn. David returned home to bless his family. Michal, Saul's daughter, came out to greet him: "How wonderfully the king has distinguished himself today-exposing himself to the eyes of the servants' maids like some burlesque street dancer!" David replied to Michal, "In God's presence I'll dance all I want! He chose me over your father and the rest of our family and made me prince over God's people, over Israel. Oh yes, I'll dance to God's glory - more recklessly even than this. And as far as I'm concerned . . . I'll gladly look like a fool . . . but among these maids you're so worried about, I'll be honored no end." Michal, Saul's daughter, was barren the rest of her life. (2 Samuel 6:16, 20-23 MSG)
Don't worry about what people say when you praise God and you show overtly that you are after His presence.....because you understand that if you have His presence things MUST change! Some people will not understand that, they'll be jealous but you don't do it for them anyway!
